Tour part 4.....2...?

Location: Penn State
mood: bored outta broadway
weapon: ipod shuffle & red lipstick

I guess i skipped tour part 2. For shame!

Tour is going okay. I think at the moment I'm having a realization that I've started focusing more on the ongoings of tour then on what I do on my own time. so i'm pretty much trying to stop that, hopefully i can accomplish this.

aside from that vague thought...

I saw Wanted, the new angelina jolie movie. angie was hot of course, james macovoy ruined it for me though....not great script writing for his character at all.....

Also I saw Sex and the City, Ironman, & indiana jones. First two mentioned were great....last one not good at all.

hmmmm......also one dude on tour is going to be taking on his dream gig up at Lake Tahoe this fall which means i'll be going up there to visit him and finally learn how to snowboard....possibly for free? who knows....

Other things i'm hoping to do when I get back...

-Camp at the Redwoods
-motorcycles
-vegas

That's about it right now....shows go without saying.

What I will leave you with is this....would you consider a Popple a Marsupial?

think about it.....

Tour Part 3

Location: St. Louis, MO
Mood: excited
Weapons: cream cheese

Just a few moments ago i learned of the possibility that I can swing going to Europe for Free! how nifty is that? I wonder if it would actually happen....probably would be quite expensive for food and hotels though.

besides this little ray of light, the tour is otherwise ridiculous.

I dont' think we've actually had one full weekend of work....maybe two....

Every week there has been wind and rain disrupting our promotions so we intern have to pack our gear up early and head back to our bungalows. I dont' mind this, but it does get a little old when you're in work mode and would like to remain in work mode for a longer portion of the day then you're allotted.

Last week we were in Wisconsin when the Tornado/Flash Floods hit, but fear not, we weren't in harms' way. We did however stay on a golf course that weekend so there were puddles all over the place. One traffic light went out, and there was a car submerged under water to boot!

We just arrived in St. Louis yesterday. So far I have found a healthy little corner grocery store, a music venue to attend tonight, and Union station which will probably entertain me for a few hours. Tomorrow I might go to the zoo since I believe it's free here.

Other then that hope you're all doing splendid.

Sony Alpha Tour leg 1

Alright, i'm back in the habit. Currently we're in Dayton, OH. Tomorrow we venture to Chicago, one of my fav. towns in the states. Unfortunately this time i'm not gonna partake in Gino's Pizza seeing as how i had a gang of free coldstone ice cream today from a neighboring vendor.

i will however be taking lots of pictures, mainly of polar bears swimming under water and the lovely architecture in the big city itself.

Let me back up though and explain what's happening.

While at SXSW, which was freakin' awesome. I got hired to do a Sony Alpha tour for the Midwest. This basically means i'm going to sporting events for youngsters trying to promote a camera for the kids' loaded parents to buy. Also a perk to this tour is that I get to hang out with Mike Shane & have my own professional camera to take pictures with this summer.

So far the tour is going well. We were in Boston about a month ago and since then have pretty much bounced back and forth between the states of Illinois and Michigan. Just to reassure anybody who thinks the Midwest is something of a 'Diamond in the Rough' though, it's absolutely not! There' is nothing to do out here but go to malls, see movies, exercise, and read books. No, these are not all bad things, but I do prefer trying to take in the novelties of places I see in the world, and the Midwest unfortunately doesn't have too many. But Chicago will! so as you can imagine i am very pleased to be going there tomorrow.

The only other perk to this tour so far is that I got to see my sister and her husband this past week. They were in very good spirits and showed me all their plans for redecorating their house. We also got to go out to an Irish pub which was wonderful & I finally snagged my sister's animation portfolio so hopefully I'll be able to set it up and show it around to a few people I know in the biz.

Other news on tour....? hmm....Well, to some of you folks who don't yet know it, the life of any person on the road, rockstar or vagabond is close to being the same. I suppose the only difference is how much you can splurge financially on your lodging, and the reason for pioneerin' around the country to begin with. By the same though, I mean BORING (after a while). You get up, eat, drive/go to work, eat, work/drive, eat, go to bar/movie/other place of interest, sleep & do the same thing the next day. Things may vary, but that's basically what you're getting yourself into.

yeah, you could argue the point that you're in some city, so at least you get to be there and see it. WRONG. If you're touring with band, that shit don't happen because you have a gig the next day that's probably 500mi away, so it's simply roll in fromt he last gig around 4, set up your shit, and then do your show, sleep, then get up at the ass crack of dawn and roll to the next city. For marketing, you're ususally is some dumb hotels by a mall, and you ain't seeing anything there either.

Also you get in these funks where you just lay around and waste away and lack being productive. I should know because I've done this quite a bit on the road. However this time I've prepared a few things to focus on. Mainly reading, some music I'm working on, and exercising. Right now the two main concentrations have been exercising and reading. Which reminds me if you haven't read 'Drug Sex and Coco Puffs' you should at least pick up this book and read the first chapter because it's very interesting to hear chuck klosterman's take on the pop culture of the 90s.

Aside from this im going home soon to LA. I really can't wait to see my friend Amie get married. She's been around since I was like 3 so it's gonna be pretty intense to see her get married, but I'm glad she's still in my life, so at least I can have some constant since a stable place to live has never really happened for me.

Oh yeah, I went veg & am still veg....i think i've only slipped like once or twice since Feb. Also Coffee has been cutt down majorly...this might be a problem for me in the future if Emily and I decide to ever open up a coffee/cake place. her and I get on with coffee like those two guys in Sideways.....we just have fun going to coffee places and discovering new coffee....yes its retarded, but classy and damn, i bet you wish you thought of it!

welp. I think that's about all for now folks. check out the myspace page if you wanna hear more rappin' that's happenin'
