This past week I had the pleasure of ms. tara staying with me, which really means 'Mary the Tour Guide!' Week. I suppose this happens with most people who live in vacation/site-seeing/iconic places, and like most, I am not good at giving tours.

Tara had also been here before, so Disneyland, the beach, the hollywood sign, and other places that would 'oooo' and 'ahhhh' people were out of the question. Instead I took her to some locations that weren't as savvy to tourists, like:

-the griddle
-hiking in the hollywood hills
-Lex Deux (not classy, but a friend's band was playing)
-the metro
-downtown
-sushi mac
-hot dog on a stick
-diddy riese

These were all wonderful spots. We also went to the beach. Everytime I go there I am reminded of how much of a waterbaby I am, and how awesome it would be to just live by the beach so that I can wake up, have a mimosa, go for a swim, and then lie in a hammock all day. Instead I wake up to roaring garbage trucks, cop sirens, and noisy neighbors around noon, then have coffee, and go about my usual routine of moving with purpose. Oh well, one day.

I'm happy though that tara came out, she was a well needed distraction that preoccupied my mind whilest waiting for this next week to take shape. What may you ask will I be up to? The following!:

-Piloxing (kickboxing and pilates bootcamp!)
-dinner with my ex-roommate ryan ( I am excited, I've never had a guy prepare me dinner before)
-Brunch with Sue B and Steve!
-LOST season Finale
-Recording with Barry
-Party at Rene's
-No Doubt Friends & Family show in Vegas with Tracy!!!

Very exciting week ahead, I am especially excited for the last bit. I mean, who really gets to say they've gone to the Friends and Family show? Probably only a handful of people! This year my friends, I will be in that handful of people and it's going to be for free!!! hooray!

Not too much else is happening. Going to finish reading Coraline, the book, and see how it's different from the movie. So far it's very fast paced, which is good since I already know how it plays out, but Neil Gaiman could have given it a little more depth.

Well, time to go to bed, have to get up early for this kickboxing all this week. I practiced the other day, sort of to rejog my memory on stance and positioning, it went pretty well, only problem was I later discovered I poped a vein or something between my ring and pinky finger. it looks like I stained it with a marker, but it's definitely not a stain from ink, but of blood. Hopefully this will not happen tomorrow....also I hope my ankle will not break or something like that...it was pretty sore
